Kanini Kega’s team takes over Jubilee headquarters, summons Kioni for disciplinary hearing

Kenya Kwanza-leaning section of Jubilee Party has taken over the party headquarters in Kileleshwa and summoned ousted Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni for a disciplinary hearing.
Speaking on Wednesday at the party headquarters, new Acting Secretary General Kanini Kega said the party’s disciplinary committee will accord ousted officials a fair hearing.
“We are be operating from here (Jubilee Headquarters). We will make sure that the disciplinary process takes place. We will give those who have been suspended a fair treatment,” he said.
At the same time, Kanini said his team will carry out an audit process to check how the party finances have been used.
“We will make sure that we’ve done a proper audit of all the activities before, during and after the elections.
“We will also look at all the financial transactions,” he stated.
He added: “We were substantively put in office by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and will make sure that the disciplinary process takes place.
“The party has already communicated to them and hopes that in due course, they will be able to appear before the organs charged with that responsibility.”
Ousted Jubilee officials
On his part, Jubilee Party Chairman Nelson Dzuya said the three party officials namely Vice Chair David Murathe, Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, and National Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi, who were suspended will remain out of office until a disciplinary process is carried out.
“All the three officials who were suspended remain suspended until the disciplinary hearing is completed,” Dzuya said.
On Tuesday, February 14, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) ratified the Jubilee Party National Executive Committee (NEC) changes that kicked out Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leaning officials.
