Kalonzo lashes out at Ruto, claims he influenced Malava and Mbeere North results
Wiper Patriotic Front Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called out President William Ruto for directly interfering with the Malava and Mbeere North by-elections, insisting that the results announced on Thursday, November 30, 2025, do not reflect the will of the people.
Speaking during a thanksgiving event in AIC Mukuni Church in Machakos County on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Kalonzo said the victories declared for UDA candidates were influenced by state machinery, including senior police officers.
He said the manipulation of the electoral process had reached a worrying level that demanded both national and international scrutiny.

Kalonzo stated that President Ruto personally made calls to security officials during the voting process.
“UDA did not win in Malava and Mbeere, we have evidence that President Ruto called two OCS in Mbeere akasema ni lazima Wamuthende ashinde, that is direct interference,” he stated.

He said the involvement of the president and local police commanders tainted the credibility of the vote. Kalonzo went on to describe the outcome as a product of coercion rather than democracy.
“Therefore, we are going to come up with a very serious approach to this thing, not just a country, the whole world lazima ijue, also the whole know that hajashinda kabisa,” he said.

He argued that the behaviour witnessed during the by-elections showed why Kenya continues to struggle with trust in electoral institutions.
“Wakenya wako na ujungu sana hasa watu wa Mbeere North na Malava, wako na uchungu mwingi sana,” Kalonzo added, suggesting that the environment had been charged with tension and fear.

Disrupting the process
He further claimed that police officers were used to aid hired groups who disrupted the process.
“Ruto alitumia polisi, polisi kazi yao ni kusaidia goons, yani goons wamekuwa miongoni mwa polisi, we are going to deal with it,” he said.
Kalonzo announced that the coalition would file a strong legal challenge to overturn the results.
“We are going to a very strong, clear petition. In fact Kama Ruto angekuwa na conscience mzuri angesema tu haya mambo yaishe mapema,” he stated.
The Wiper leader maintained that the petition would expose what he described as systematic electoral interference, promising supporters that the truth would come to light.
