Kalonzo joins opposition leaders for Western Kenya tour
Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has joined other opposition leaders in a three-day political tour of the Western Kenya region aimed at rallying support and engaging residents on national issues.
In a statement on his X account on Thursday, June 12, 2026, Kalonzo announced that the opposition team would hold meetings in several towns across the region, including Luanda, Khwirumbi, Khayega, Malava, and Mayunge.

“Leo ni leo. Western Kenya, mko tayari? Leo tupatane Luanda, Khwirumbi, Khayega, Malava na Mayunge. Pamoja, tukomboe Kenya,” Kalonzo said.
The tour, which is underway in Luanda town in Vihiga, has brought together key opposition figures who have intensified their countrywide engagements as they seek to strengthen their political alliance ahead of the 2027 general election.
Gachagua’s arrival
Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has arrived in Kisumu to begin a three-day political tour of Western Kenya.

In a statement by deputy party leader Cleophas Malala on Friday, June 13, 2026, he welcomed Gachagua in Kisumu as he kicked off the regional tour, which will run from Friday to Sunday, with a series of public engagements and interactions with residents across the region.
According to Malala, the tour is aimed at engaging residents and strengthening his party’s grassroots support.
“I have welcomed my party leader, Rigathi Gachagua, in Kisumu for the 3-day Western tour. We shall engage and interact with the residents of the Western Region from today to Sunday. Tuko area!” the statement read.
Among the key opposition leaders at the rally are Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, JB Muturi, and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
