Jubilee unveils Bina Tupi as its candidate for Isiolo South by-election

The Jubilee Party has unveiled Bina Mohamed Tupi, the daughter of the late Isiolo South MP Mohammed Tupi, as its candidate for the forthcoming parliamentary by-election scheduled for February 26, 2026.

In a press statement shared by the Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, the party announced that it had issued a nomination certificate to Bina, whom it says will carry forward a proud political legacy of her father, who has been hailed as a devoted and loyal member of the Jubilee Party.

“Jubilee Party today issued a nomination certificate to Hon. Bina Mohamed Tupi as the party’s official candidate for the forthcoming Isiolo South Constituency by-election scheduled for 26th February,” the party stated.

“Hon. Bina Tubi carries forward a proud political legacy. Her late father, the former Member of Parliament for Isiolo South, was a devoted and loyal member of the Jubilee Party who served both the party and the people with commitment, dignity, and clarity of purpose. Jubilee honours his contribution and remains deeply grateful for the trust and partnership we have shared with the people of Isiolo South over the years.”

Jubilee Party’s relationship with Isiolo South

The Jubilee party further noted that its relationship with Isiolo South is rooted in mutual respect, development-focused leadership, and inclusive politics.

The party also expressed confidence that the Isiolo South constituents would choose principled leadership, unity, and integrity during the upcoming by-election.

“Our relationship with Isiolo South is rooted in mutual respect, development-focused leadership, and inclusive politics. As a party, Jubilee remains committed to safeguarding that legacy while offering renewed, people centered leadership that speaks to the present and the future,” the statement read.

“As the by-election approaches, Jubilee is confident that the people of Isiolo South will once again choose principled leadership, unity, and integrity.”

Bidu Mohamed Tupi’s death

The Isiolo South parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of Tupi Bidu Mohamed, who died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

In a message to the nation, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula confirmed the passing of the first-term lawmaker on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, evening, describing it as a great loss to Parliament and the country.

“It is with profound deep sorrow that I inform you and the nation of the demise of our esteemed colleague, the Member for Isiolo South Constituency, the Tubi Bidu Mohamed, MP, who has left us this evening, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital,” Wetang’ula stated.
