Jubilee deputy party leader Manje slams Ruto over misplaced priorities
Jubilee Deputy Party Leader and Member of Parliament for Kajiado North Constituency Joseph Manje has slammed President William Ruto for carrying out misplaced priorities in the execution of government-funded projects.
Speaking on a local radio station on Monday, February,9,2026, Manje has accused President Ruto of coming up with new projects that are a replica of projects started by the Jubilee government.
Manje has advised that President Ruto would have built on the projects started by the previous administration under the leadership of Former president Uhuru Kenyatta and improved on them by adding more funds to them, and this way he could have formed a stronger government.
“If you take the funds that he is coming up with, like the Nyota Fund and all that, do you know that before he came to power, there was there was uwezo fund? which was doing very well. What he could have done is to improve on that and add more capital to it.”

Nyota and Hustler funds are misplaced
The lawmaker has pointed out that instead of coming up with the current Nyota program, the government would have instead majored on adding more funds to the Uwezo funds that were already thriving in the Uhuru-led administration. He has also noted that the Youth Fund and Women’s Enterprise Fund were a clear representation of the present Hustler Fund.
The Jubilee deputy party leader has advised that Ruto should be aware that, as a Head of State, he should leave behind a legacy and change the perception that the citizens have of him. Manje has noted that Kenyans would remember President Ruto as the most corrupt President, a notion that he should try to change.
“Kenyans are likely to remember Ruto as the most corrupt president to have ever existed,” Manje added.

Manje’s sentiments have come at a time when the members of the United Opposition have been against Ruto’s development plan, citing it as misplaced and not working. He has called on the president to keep his priorities straight in order to have a positive impact to be remembered for.
