Jeremiah Kioni: Our people are demanding more than promises
By David Nthua, July 5, 2026Jubilee Party Deputy Party Leaderf Jeremiah Kioni has said Kenyans are demanding leadership that goes beyond campaign promises and delivers tangible results across the country.
Kioni made the remarks after holding a consultative meeting with Jubilee Party leaders and supporters from Laikipia County, where discussions focused on the country’s political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Jeremiah Kioni on what Kenyans need
According to Kioni, residents expressed a desire for leadership that addresses the economy, public services, education, security and livelihoods.
“Our people are demanding more than promises; they are demanding leadership that works. A government that creates opportunities for all, protects livelihoods, strengthens our economy, restores dignity to public services, safeguards the security of every citizen, and ensures that every child has access to quality education,” Kioni said.
Kioni added that Kenya requires leaders who unite citizens while remaining accountable for their decisions.
“Our country deserves honest, competent, and accountable leadership that unites rather than divides, and delivers results instead of excuses,” he stated.

Kioni said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views with supporters on the country’s current political and economic situation.
He maintained that the discussions centred on the future of the country and the role the party intends to play in the period leading to the next General Election.
The consultative engagement forms part of Jubilee’s ongoing grassroots mobilisation across different counties as the party continues to strengthen its structures.
Likewise, Jeremiah Kioni, while emphasising the need to have leaders who can be trusted, last week stated that 2027 presents a good moment for former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, who he said does not condone nonsense.
Laikipia meeting
Kioni said feedback received from Laikipia reflected what he described as growing expectations among Kenyans for a people-centred government.
“Held a consultative engagement with leaders and Jubilee Party supporters from Laikipia County as we exchanged views on the state of our nation and the journey ahead. The message from Laikipia was clear: Kenyans are ready for a leadership that puts the people first,” he said.

He further argued that Jubilee remains well placed to attract support from different parts of the country.
“Jubilee Party continues to stand out as the party of choice, bringing together Kenyans from all walks of life under a shared vision of unity, opportunity, and a better Kenya,” Kioni said.
The meeting comes as political parties continue consultations, recruit supporters and outline priorities ahead of the official campaign period for the 2027 General Election.
