Jalang’o claims more Azimio MPs want to join Kenya Kwanza
Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Felix Odiwuor Kodhe alias Jalang’o has revealed that a section of MPs allied to the opposition have expressed a desire to join Kenya Kwanza.
Speaking during an interview on NTV, the first-time MP noted that a good number of politicians allied to the opposition wish to join the ruling party but lack the courage to do so.
He noted that some were only associated with the opposition due to selfish reasons such as booking a ticket for the 2027 General Election.
The former comedian gave an instance where some MPs openly declared their stance during the voting of the Finance Bill which was assented to law.
“Tuko nao bungenii, kuna wengi wangependa sana kufanya kazi na rais lakini hawaezi kutoka hapa. Unapata mtu anakuambia ‘how I wish ningeweza kukuja akini ni vile I don’t have the courage to do it,
“Kuna wengi pia watakuja hapa wakuambe baba baba lakini yeye ni tu kupigania ticket yake ndo anapigania. Wengi tukiwa bungen wakati wa Finance Bill walikua wanakuja wanakuambia ata tukiiwa tunalose lazima nionekane katika television kua nmepiga kura no kuonyesha kua nimesimama na chama na wananchi,” he stated.
Jalang’o also revealed that he had been excluded from all ODM party communications amid a fallout with the party.
“Sasa hivi nimetolewa katika communications zote za chama. So siwezi jua hata kama kuna chochote chama inataka tusimame nayo siwezi jua. (I have been excluded from all party communications. If there is any party stand I can’t know),” he stated,
When asked if he betrayed the Raila Odinga-led party, the former comedian denied it.
“Nimemsaliti nani? (Whom have I betrayed?” he added.
The former comedian is embroiled in a tussle with his party after he announced his support for the government.
“Our resolve to work with HE William Ruto was not a gimmick! We will support the President and we must support the President! When the President loses we lose! Ruto is Kenya 1,” he stated at the time.
