I’ve forgiven my enemies, Nyaribo says after ouster flop

Two days after surviving an impeachment motion, Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo yesterday extended an olive branch to his opponents, saying he was ready to work with them.

Nyaribo (pictured) told the MCAs who fronted the motion not to fear as they were exercising their constitutional mandate and he was ready to work with them in serving the people.

“I have not been implicated in any fraud case or stolen public funds to warrant my impeachment. Equally, I have not violated the Constitution in the course of discharging my duties,” he told the press in his office.

“I want to tell all those who wanted to have me impeached for no apparent reason that I have forgiven them from the bottom of my heart and I am ready to work with them for effective service delivery to the people of Nyamira,” he added.

He, however, accused his deputy James Gesami, is opponents in the last gubernatorial elections and a Member of Parliament of being behind the bid to impeach him.

“My political detractors met, schemed and raised funds which they gave the rebel MCAs in a bid to have me impeached,” he claimed.

“I have an audio clip where my own deputy was planning with my political rivals and the rebel MCAs on how to have me impeached,’ he added.
