National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has urged Muranga residents to resist the temptation of being unduly influenced by politicians

Speaking in Kangema on Friday, October 3, 2025, Kikuyu MP reminded them that they reserve the right to decide who they will elect to leadership positions.

“You, as the wananchi, will be the one to elect your leaders. You will decide on who deserves to be elected again based on the work he has done,” he stated.

The lawmaker defended the Kenya Kwanza government, emphasising that the administration deserved a second term for the various developments undertaken in the region.

He further urged the residents and leaders not to be distracted by rival politicians who resorted to mockery by branding others with nicknames.

“I ask you to remain united and support the president and our deputy Kindiki. We elected this government so that we get development, and I ask you to rally behind our Deputy President,” he stated.

Mockery

“I have been called names; Id they call Ruto, Kasongo, we will march forward with that name. If they call Kindiki, a man who carried cash around to dish out to people, let him bring the money and use it to drive development,” he added.

Speaking at the same function, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki warned the opposition to brace for defeat in the upcoming political contest in the 2027 elections.

“Wakati wa siasa itakuja msituharakishe. Siku ya siasa inakuja na wale wanajiita mashujaa watakutana na fire. Hawawezani na sisi, Hao ni watu wadogo sana. Hawatuhjui vizuri, saa hii sasa wanatuongelesha kama wametoka mbinguni,”

While defending the Kenya Kwanza regime development record under President William Ruto, the DP reminded their critics that they, too, will have to render an account of their work when they were in positions of power and influence.

“Kila kiongozi atatoa record yake and kujitetea. Mi nasema tuendelee kusukuma maendeleo alafu siasa tutafanya wakaiti wake ukifika. Wale wanatupinga watatuambia wao walifanya nini wakiwa kwa kiti,”
