Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has told off the newly appointed Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Odinga, saying that the president has no plan to implement the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report as they are insisting on its implementation as a party.

While speaking during the celebration of the newly elected DCP leaders at the party headquarters on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, he told off the leader and the entire ODM party, saying that the president once confided in him, while still in office, that he has no plans of implementing the report together with the 10-point agenda that the Kalonzo Musyoka–led committee deliberated on.

Niliskia Oburu akisema anaongojea Ruto a-implement 10-point agenda. Alishaniambia hakuna mahali hii kitu inaenda Tell William Ruto, if he is serious and he wants to implement NADCo, he should do so fast just like he removed me from office,” Gachagua said

He further told Oburu Odinga, who has been calling for its implementation, that just like the president expedited his removal from office, which happened in 2 weeks, if the president truly means well for the NADCo report, he should also look for funds, call the MPs and senators, and instruct them to fast-track its implementation just like they did with his impeachment.

He went further to cite the 10-point agenda that formed the basis of the broad-based agreement between the late ODM party leader Raila Odinga and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), throwing cold water on it and saying that its implementation will never come to fruition.

He also cautioned ODM party operatives over its continued bromance with President William Ruto, stating that Ruto’s sole intention is to finish the ODM party, which he acknowledged was once a vibrant party but, according to him, is steering toward its fall, and the president will be the one to hit the last nail on its coffin.

ODM’s fall

He went ahead to say that the early signs of its fall were manifested in the recently concluded by-election, where he says the areas that ODM once enjoyed huge support in have already been swallowed by the United Opposition.

He cited the Kisii region, which has been part and parcel of the ODM party, saying that it is fully in the United Opposition, inclusive of the Western Kenya region and parts of Nairobi, which, according to him, are fully behind his DCP party.

He went ahead to extend an olive branch to Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna, saying that should the party show him the door due to his continued defiance, the DCP party will give him a place to breathe.

Message to Sifuna and Babu

While showering praises on him, he said Sifuna is a very ingenious politician, and that he has no problem with him.

He extended the same to Embakasi East MP and 2027 gubernatorial hopeful Babu Owino, urging him to either use Wiper or his party to realise his gubernatorial ambitions.
