He also commended the leaders for what he termed as their immense knowledge and patriotism for Kenya.

“We move forward to a better and equal Kenya as a people. I continue to listen to and engage all stakeholders and opinion shapers on what best our nation deserves, especially a time like now we are on the presipice of an economic, social, and political nosedive. Today at my Wamunyoro residence, Nyeri County, I spent the whole day with Maa leaders from Kajiado and Narok counties,” Gachagua stated.

“I commend the leaders for their immense knowledge and patriotism for our motherland. I have noted the concerns they have raised on issues that do not only affect the Maa community but also the entire nation.”

Gachagua hosts Maa Elders

The meeting comes barely two weeks after Gachagua convened a meeting with a delegation of Elders from Kajiado West at his Wamunyoro residence.

The Maa Elders paid Gachagua a courtesy call on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

In a statement via his official X account, the former DP stated that the delegation had accompanied Engineer Dickson Ntikoisa and discussed the close ties between the Maa and Mount Kenya communities.

Gachagua further detailed that during the meeting they revisited various moments when the two communities worked together.

“This afternoon, I hosted a delegation of Elders from Kajiado West that had accompanied Engineer Dickson Ntikoisa to come to see me at our Wamunyoro Residence. During our discussions, we revisited the close ties the Maa Community has had with Mt Kenya communities, including the various moments they have worked together going way back to before independence,” Gachagua stated.

He went on to say that the elders briefed him on the current happenings in Kenya and what interventions they think could help the country.

“The elders also walked me through their view of how Kenya is moving and what interventions they think we can make as we head into this year. These consultations are really helping us crystallize our thoughts on how to proceed, and we are grateful to all those making their way to Wamunyoro to meet with us,” he added.
