Gachagua arrives in the UK

He was warmly received by his team, which he had earlier dispatched to conduct a pre-landing inspection.The
Kenyans living in the UK were already waiting at Heathrow Airport to receive the Democracy for Citizens (DCP) leader upon arrival.
On arrival, he was gifted flowers and offered prayers, thanking the Almighty for the journey’s mercies to Britain.
His foot soldiers, led by Methu, had maintained vigil at Heathrow International Airport, waiting for his landing.
“This morning at Heathrow International Airport, as we await the arrival of H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, with Kaba Methu, senator of Nyandarua, and the Kenyan community living in the UK,” Fanya Mambo said.
They had initially been accompanied by former Kieni MP Kanini Kega, who was forced to return to the country immediately after landing after he received news of his mother’s demise.
The former Deputy President left Kenya on Friday, May 15, 2026, in the evening, accompanied by his spouse, Reverend Dorcas, for his journey to England.
Gachagua is set for a month-long tour in the diaspora to woo the community to back his bid and also raise funds to support his political endeavours, among them being funds for nominations.
He recently stated that he is eyeing Ksh2 billion from the diaspora community, where Ksh1 billion will be earmarked for party primaries, with the remainder being contributed by the aspirants themselves.
Gachagua’s US visit
Gachagua had earlier made a similar visit to the United States, where he took time to tour several states, pleading with the diaspora community not to turn a blind eye to what is taking place in the country.
He urged them to take part in the political process in the nation since they contribute heavily through diaspora remittances. He also promised them a wide range of incentives, including the abolition of double taxation on diaspora remittances, saying that should he take over power, this would be a thing of the past.
Gachagua’s goodies for diaspora community
Through his DCP party, he promised the diaspora community nomination slots to the National Assembly, Senate, and county assemblies, saying that their expertise is also needed back at home.
He also promised them ambassadorial posts, since, according to him, they are well versed in international affairs, which is essential on diplomatic issues.
After his tour to the United Kingdom, he will go back to the United States before returning to Kenya and concentrating on Ol Kalou by-election campaigns, among many other political issues.
