Ford Kenya leaders wrangles persist

By , April 23, 2020

Ford Kenya party has dismissed claims of infighting between its leader Moses Wetang’ula and Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati.

The party’s Bungoma branch secretary Chrispinus Wachana defended Wetang’ula’s recent criticism of the governor over alleged corruption saying the senator was only playing his oversight role.

Wetang’ula has been accusing Wangamati for failing to tame corruption in his government.

Previously strong political allies, the relationship between the two has been increasingly acidic.

The Ford Kenya boss has criticised the governor for allegedly buying 600, 20-litre jerricans at inflated price of Sh10,000.

The statement has angered Wangamati’s supporters who accuse the senator of fighting the county chief.
