Farouk Kibet and PS Inyangala to unveil Kabras West ward UDA by-election candidate

By , January 18, 2026

Principal Secretary for Higher Education Beatrice Inyangala, together with President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet, is set to tour Kabras West Ward and officially unveil the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) flag bearer in the upcoming by-elections.

They will be on Sunday, January 18, 2025, accompanied by the recently elected Malava Member of Parliament David Ndakwa, who won during the November 27 by-elections last year. Ndakwa also spearheaded the UDA party primaries held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, where Elphas Shalakha emerged victorious.

The UDA candidate is now set to face DAP-K’s Nivah Musa in the by-election.

Farouk Kibet is set to make a comeback to campaign for the UDA candidate after previously doing the same for David Ndakwa, a move that saw him win by a razor-thin margin against Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) candidate Seth Panyako.

UDA’s by-election victory last year boosted the party’s confidence, which is now evident in this year’s by-elections, where the party has fielded candidates in all by-election centres, including Muminji, Evurore, Isiolo South, and Kabras West.

Upcoming by-elections

The party held its primaries on January 10, 2026, and awarded tickets to the winners, who are set to square off against candidates from other parties in the by-elections slated for February 26, 2026.

David Ndakwa also provided the itinerary for the day’s activities, stating that Inyangala and Farouk will begin their tour at 7:30 a.m. with an engagement with Avasamo at the Samo Cultural Centre in West Kabras Ward, alongside Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly.

“1. 7:30 A.M. || Samo Cultural Centre, West Kabras Ward. I will attend an engagement with Avasamo at the Samo Cultural Centre together with Sir Farouk Kibet, Members of Parliament, and Members of County Assembly (MCAs). 2. 8:30 A.M Church Service || Mutsuma Primary School”
