Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has confidently declared that President William Ruto will secure a second term in office, predicting a landslide victory in the 2027 general election.

Speaking on the night of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, during an interview with a local TV station, Duale rallied supporters of the Kenya Kwanza administration to begin mobilising early, emphasising the need to register more voters ahead of the next poll.

He argued that leaders from the North Eastern part of Kenya have urged their people to declare their real numbers in the upcoming census, since they need to have enough numbers to re-elect Ruto.

“Our numbers in the census—if you go and ask someone, ‘How many children do you have?’ they will answer you, ‘Is that your business?’ But we have now told them, for the census, they must say. Because we have to have enough voters to bring back William Ruto. William Ruto will come back with a landslide. These characters will be shocked. That guy, Inshaallah, his second term is guaranteed, and he will be voted not because of anything else but because he will deliver on his promises,” Duale said.

The High Court in January 2025 cancelled the 2019 Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) census results for Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa Counties in the North Eastern region, citing significant irregularities.

Garissa High Court Judge John Onyiego ruled that KNBS failed to uphold fundamental data integrity standards, leading to inaccurate population figures.

“The published results in Volume 1 of the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census (KPHC) in respect to the mentioned areas are hereby cancelled,” he stated.

Cherargei predicts Ruto’s win

Duale’s remarks come weeks after Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei predicted a landslide win for President Ruto in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking on the night of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, during an interview with one of the local TV stations, Cherargei listed some of the candidates he believes will be Ruto’s worthy competitors in the presidential contest.

According to the lawmaker, Wiper Democratic Movement’s Kalonzo Musyoka will be a candidate, as well as former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

However, he argued that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will not be on the presidential ballot because he was removed from office by way of impeachment.

Ruto on 2027

In May 2025, Ruto also announced that he would win the 2027 general elections by a landslide against the opposition.

Speaking in Kisumu Town ahead of the launch of the LV Point Affordable Housing precinct within LV Marina on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Ruto stated that the opposition has no plan or agenda for the Kenyan citizens.

“These are people who have no vision, no plan, and no agenda. We will show them dust; they won’t believe,” he stated.
