Duale explains why Ruto deserves second term
By Kenneth Mwenda, June 29, 2025Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Sunday, June 29, 2025, explained why President William Ruto deserves a second term.
In an address at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu, Duale praised Ruto’s leadership, saying the president had achieved more in just two and a half years than many others had in a full decade.
“Kama Kibaki alipewa kumi, Mkenya mwingine atapewa kumi yake… William Ruto has performed in two and a half years … Tutamchagua William Ruto two term kwa sababu amefanya kazi,” he stated.
Translation: If Kibaki was given ten years, another Kenyan will also be given his ten… William Ruto has achieved a lot in two and a half years… We will elect William Ruto for a second term because he has delivered.
He further pointed to the success of government initiatives under Ruto’s leadership.
“Leo SHA inafanya, wakulima wamepata mbolea, viwanda ya sukari imefufuliwa, uchumi ya nchi imekuwa stable,” Duale added, noting that The Social Health Authority insurance is working, fertiliser has reached farmers, sugar factories have been revived, and the country’s economy has stabilised.
“William Ruto has performed in two and a half years… na tutamchagua two term kwa sababu amefanya kazi,” he reiterated.
Translation: William Ruto has performed in two and a half years… and we will elect him for a second term because he has worked.

Duale was joined by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and CS Opiyo Wandayi in leading an empowerment funds drive aimed at supporting grassroots communities.
Ichung’wah calls for calm
Ichung’wah, who was also present, had earlier in Kapsabet urged calm in the country following recent protests. He called on religious leaders to stop inciting Kenyans, especially the youth, to engage in demonstrations that lead to destruction.
“Even as we express ourselves in whichever way, we must never burn our country. It is sad that we have seen some of our church leaders fall into the temptation of listening to those negative voices,” he said.
He reminded the youth that jobs come from the very investors being chased away during violent demonstrations.
“I want to encourage the generations behind us to seek peace, express yourselves in a manner that you can be heard without necessarily destroying our country,” Ichung’wah added.
