DP Ruto shares cup of tea with his newly deployed AP officers in Karen

Deputy President William Ruto has officially welcomed Administration Police Officers deployed at his Official Karen residence.
In pictures shared by him, the DP is seen have a conversation with the officers and also sharing a cup of tea.
“Sharing a cup of tea with the new security team as I welcome them to the Official Residence of the Deputy President,” the DP tweeted.
The developments come a few days after the DP, through his chief of staff Ken Osinde, wrote to the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai demanding the reinstatement of General Service Unit (GSU) officers who had been withdrawn from his residence.
He protested the move terming it illegal and done in bad faith.
But on Sunday, August 30, the DP appeared to have accepted the changes after he stated that his security was not a priority if millions of Kenyans are not safe.
‘’Ikipatikana kazi ya muhimu ya wakenya ambao wana matatizo wanaweza leta ata G4S wanilinde na kunisaidia hamna shida (If a job opportunity comes up that involves Kenyans of goodwill and how they can be helped, they can even deploy G4S to guard and help me at my residence),” Ruto said.
His security detail was on Thursday, August 26, reshuffled and reduced by almost a half.
Security officers, most of whom GSUs posted at the DP’s Karen residence, were recalled and replaced by Administration Police.
