A prominent politician who has already declared interest in 2022 presidential contest is receiving backlash in his home turf after his party failed to front a candidate for the upcoming Kibra by-election.
His allies are worried this could send a wrong signal to supporters and spoil his chances in the 2022 General Election.
They have been pushing him to field a candidate, but he says the party does not have the financial muscle for the race.
