Kisii Woman Rep Dorice Aburi has asked Azimio leaders to stop the ongoing protests and embrace dialogue with President William Ruto.

The MP said the demonstrations were disrupting businesses and lives and were hurting the economy. She was speaking in Kitutu Chache South constituency when she distributed food and clothes to residents.

“How have Kenyans benefitted from the protests? I urge residents of Kisii County to shun them and focus on income-generating activities,” Donya (pictured) said. Accompanied by area MP Anthony Kibagendi, Donya who was elected on a Wiper Party ticket, condemned the killing of Maseno University student William Mayenga during last week’s protests.

“Why did we lose Mayenga?” she posed. Meanwhile, matatu operators plying the Kisii- Kisumu and Kisii-Migori roads have protested against the demonstrations, saying they have paralysed the transport sector. James Nyangeri, a matatu operator in Kisii town, said people were avoiding travelling, which is hurting the matatu business.
