Caleb Amisi: Raila blessed us before he died
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, February 13, 2026Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has said that the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga called him together with Senator Edwin Sifuna and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party Leader Godfrey Osotsi and blessed them.
Taking it to the social media X handle on Friday, February 13, 2026, Amisi said that the former prime minister, the late Raila Odinga, had already identified them and bestowed blessings upon them, a year before his demise.
According to Amisi, Raila Odinga called the three of them at Capitol Hill.
“Baba knew them so well, he identified the trio, @edwinsifuna, Godfrey Osotsi and yours truly, Caleb Amisi. He called each one of us, paraded us at the Capitol Hill office during the one o’clock news bulletin; one year before he died, blessed us and released us to the world,” Amisi stated.

Amisi, who was recently removed as the party’s Deputy Organising Secretary via a WhatsApp message, has stated that with his colleagues, they shall protect the legacy that the late Raila Odinga left behind by all means.
“We shall protect Raila Odinga’s legacy by all means necessary. Kenya needs a renaissance!” Amisi added.
Amisi’s dismissal as deputy Organising Secretary
Amisi’s statement comes at a time when the ODM Party is undergoing internal divisions within its leadership. The divisions have led to changes in the leadership of the party.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has been accusing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of sidelining him through a “coup” after he was removed as the party’s Deputy Organising Secretary via a WhatsApp message.
Amisi made the claim during a press conference in Nairobi on Thursday, February 12, 2026, alongside Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and other ODM members. Sifuna had recently faced his own removal as Secretary General, which he described as illegal and unconstitutional.
“I am the second casualty of this coup. I was removed as the Deputy Organising Secretary via a WhatsApp message,” Amisi said.

Court rules in Sifuna’s favour
Edwin Sifuna has also been subject to the ongoing divisions in the party, being ousted as the Secretary General of the ODM party. A decision that was stopped by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT)
The ruling was made after Sifuna challenged the party’s decision.
“That pending the hearing and determination of this instant application, inter partes, this Honourable Tribunal hereby issues orders staying the implementation of the resolution made by the National Executive Committee of the Orange Democratic Movement Party on 11th February, 2026, to remove Edwin Sifuna as the secretary general of the party,” PPDT acting chairperson Gad Gathu ruled.
