Caleb Amisi: ODM leaders have badly let down Raila
By Luke Oluoch, November 15, 2025Sabioti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called out the leadership of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for letting down its late leader, Raila Odinga, during the fiery 20th anniversary celebration in Mombasa on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Taking to his X page afterwards, the lawmaker accused the entire party leadership of failing to demonstrate leadership through their utterances.
Unfortunate day
“ODM leaders, today, all of you have let Baba down badly. Very unfortunate for the enigma,” he stated.
He implored them to reflect on their utterances and consider if they would have made the same remarks had their late party leader been alive.
“All, and I mean all, leaders who spoke today at #ODM at 20, ask yourselves, would your speech have been the same if Baba were alive?” He posed.
Conflicting speeches
Amisi’s remarks come as the ODM at 20 celebrations entered its second day, with leaders offering conflicting stances over the future and political direction the party ought to take.
Among the notable conflicts was a scathing attack from Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, who criticised Kileleshwa MCA and blogger Robert Alai for targeting EALA MP Winnie Odinga.
Millie warned Alai that his harassment of women in politics would not be tolerated.

“Ningetaka kuonya. Kuna mtu nimeona ameattack Winnie Odinga. Mimi kama mtetezi ya wamama. I want to say this, whether it is Alai or whatever the name is. Nimeona, you like harassing women, but where Millie Odhiambo is, we will deal with you head-on,” she warned.
The warning follows comments made by Alai earlier on Saturday, in which he questioned Winnie Odinga’s role in the party and her political experience. He said she doesn’t have political experience to give anyone direction in ODM and criticised her for insulting female leaders.
Alai also argued that the ODM leadership, particularly Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, allowed young leaders like Winnie to lecture senior members, describing her claims as shameful and extremely unfortunate. He called on other party leaders not to allow such behaviour to disrupt the party.
