Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has announced that the next “Meet the People” rally by the Linda Mwananchi Faction of the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) will take place in Emurua Dikirr.

Amisi has said that the event is set to honour the late politician Johanna Ng’eno, who passed away in a plane crash in Nandi County.

Taking it to his social media on Friday, March 6, 2026, Amisi emphasised that the rally will be an opportunity to engage directly with citizens, presenting candid discussions on the challenges facing the country.

“The next Linda Mwananchi meet the people tour will be in Emurua Dikirr. And we shall tell the people nothing but the truth! Rest in peace, our comrade Sir Johanna Ng’eno! Kenya needs a renaissance!” Amisi stated.

In his statement, which gave a heartfelt tribute to Ng’eno, describing him as a dedicated comrade who championed the rights of ordinary Kenyans, Amisi stated that holding the rally in Emurua Dikirr is both a celebration of his life and a continuation of his mission to ensure citizens’ voices are heard in governance matters.

Amisi reassured attendees that the forum will remain inclusive and focused on solutions that directly impact communities, reflecting the values that Johanna Ng’eno stood for throughout his career.

Linda Mwananchi Faction

The Linda Mwananchi movement has emerged as one of the most dynamic political initiatives in

The movement is led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna along with other prominent legislators, including James Orengo, Babu Owino, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.

Through a series of public rallies held across counties such as Busia, Kitengela, Kakamega, and Ugunja, the group has sought to highlight issues of governance, accountability, and the protection of citizen rights, insisting that these forums speak nothing but the truth to the people.

Internal disagreements within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have since created a pronounced split, with Sifuna and his allies being critical of ODM leaders who are exploring collaboration with President William Ruto’s ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The faction insists that ODM should remain firmly in opposition to Ruto’s government and has indicated that it may pursue independent strategies in the 2027 elections.

On the other hand, the party’s leadership under Oburu Oginga, often called the Linda Ground faction, appears more inclined to consolidate ODM structures and explore strategic alliances, including potential cooperation with the executive side.
