Buzeki reveals his top priority after joining UDA
By Kiprono Keileb, September 14, 2025Businessman and politician Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop has declared that his entry into the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will not immediately tilt towards 2027 succession politics but will instead focus on supporting leaders currently serving in government.
Speaking on his Facebook on Sunday, September 14, 2025, after his official welcome to the ruling party, Buzeki, as he is popularly known, expressed gratitude to those who received him warmly and said his energy now will be directed towards motivating and guiding leaders to deliver effectively.
“I appreciate all for welcoming me to UDA; sasa ni wakati wa kukuja kusaidiana na wale viongozi wako kwa viti,” Buzeki said, making it clear that his priority is to work alongside elected leaders.

He singled out the governor, senator, and principal secretaries as key figures he intends to engage with and encourage in their roles.
“Governor tumsaidie kimawaidha asukume kazi, nitamtafuta seneta pia nimpatie ile mawaidha niko nazo,” he said, underscoring the need for unity and guidance within the party’s leadership structure.
Elsewhere, UDA has moved to reclaim the Garissa Governor seat by endorsing Korane to vie for the vacant position.
According to Buzeki, his approach will not only be limited to leaders from his own community but will extend to principal secretaries across the country.
“Nitawatafuta pia PS wetu wote kutoka jamii yetu na Kenya mzima, nitawatembelea tushare idea na pia to motivate them,” he noted.
The businessman-turned-politician emphasised that while politics remains part of the future, this is not the moment to stir up campaigns. Instead, he pledged to stand behind those in office, allowing them the space to fulfil their mandates.
“Ikifika wakati wa siasa nitazungumza na raia lakini wakati huu nawaunga mkono wale walio serikalini,” he said, stressing that his voice in electoral politics will come later.

For Buzeki, joining UDA represents more than a political shift; it is also about reconnecting with his base and embracing what he called his political homecoming.
“Nimefurahi kuja nyumbani,” he said, ending his message with a tone of satisfaction and renewed commitment.
His remarks come after many Kenyans took to social media to welcome him into the ruling party, a gesture he acknowledged with gratitude. The move is expected to add weight to UDA’s political machinery in the Rift Valley region and beyond, as the party continues to draw influential figures ahead of the 2027 contest.
By choosing to first concentrate on governance and service delivery, Buzeki has signalled a cautious but deliberate path—one that sets him apart from those already deep into succession talk.
