Barasa names Savula Trade CEC member

Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa (pictured) has unveiled his County Executive Committee members and Chief Officers, with his deputy Ayub Savula taking the Trade docket.
In the list which will be vetted by the County Assembly, the Governor appointed two teachers.
They are Kitale’s St. Joseph School Principal Godfrey Awori, who was named Education CEC, while school principal Boniface Okoth, who was the governor’s campaign manager, will be the County Secretary.
Isaac Omungo, who was appointed chief of staff towards the tail end of Oparanya’s reign, was retained in the same capacity.
Two ministers, Penina Mukabane and Lawrence Omuhaka, who served under Oparanya made a comback. Mukabane, who was dropped from Cabinet after the 2017 election, is the CEC nominee for Lands while Omuhaka, who left two years ago after she was appointed Chief Administrative Secretary in the national government, has been named CEC member for Public Service and Administration.
Savula will head the Trade, Industrialization and Tourism docket.
Others include Livingstone Imboyi (Finance), Carol Atamba (ICT) and Benjamin Andama (Agriculture).
Kakamega ODM chairman Moffat Mandela, who has been an adviser on youth affairs in the Governor’s office, will head the Social Services, Sports and Youth docket.
