Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Cotu) secretary general Francis Atwoli (pictured) yesterday accused Deputy President William Ruto of authoring the speech delivered by Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi at the Bomas of Kenya on Sunday.

He criticised Mudavadi for allowing the DP to use him for selfish political interests as the war of words between the two escalated.

“Anybody who has been listening to what William Ruto has been talking about me, Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta can attest that it was him (Ruto) who crafted that speech,” claimed the trade unionist.

He noted that it is not Mudavadi’s nature to openly attack him and other respected leaders.

He recounted how he has supported Mudavadi’s political career but is now dismayed at the ANC leader’s betrayal.

In his much-awaited speech at the ANC National Delegates Congress, Mudavadi slammed Atwoli for not doing enough to champion Kenyan workers’ interests.
