Four other candidates, Munyao Benjamin, Festus Muema, Lukoye Charles and Lilian Mutuku didn’t get any votes.

Addressing the MCAs after being sworn in by the county clerk Joseph Mutisya, Mwikali urged all members to be vibrant in order to deliver their mandate to the people.

“Committees must be vibrant enough to steer business of the house because with weak committees the house may not be effective in delivering” Mwikali said.

She urged committee chairpersons to be proactive, innovative and dynamic to fill the house with a quality business.

Speaker Mwikali also urged the members to conduct themselves in a way that fits state officers.

“Honorable members you are now expected to carry yourself in a way that fits your status,” Mwikala advised.

She pledged to serve all members equally without discrimination.

Mwikali received massive support from the Wiper members and was Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s favourite candidate for the position.

Mung’ata, on the other hand, received support from members elected on Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party ticket.
