Alfred Mutua asserts Ruto will be re-elected on his work record
Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has exuded optimism about President William Ruto securing a second term in office.
Speaking in Kilome Constituency, Makueni County, on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Mutua joined a host of government-allied politicians in supporting the president’s reelection bid for an extended term in office.
The CS led the calls by leaders to rally the region to resist the urge to join the opposition brigade, led by Rigathi Gachagua and Kalonzo Musyoka, a regional kingpin of the region.
“Sisi tumechoka na siasa ya umasikini na fitina. Tunataka siasa ya maendeleo na kusonga mbele. Kwa miaka mingi tumeambiwa kama jamii tukae ngumu eti mambo yatakuwa mazuri apo mbele,” he said.
“Sisi tunajua Wakenya wameona ile kazi unafanya, na tunajua utaunda serikali ijayo na kuendelea hio miradi na kazi,” he added.
The anti-opposition speeches dominated the start of Ruto’s four-day tour of the Ukambani region as the president embarked on another charm offensive in the area, barely a month after he oversaw the Mashujaa Day celebrations in the region.
Dont be fooled
Nominated Senator Tabitha Mutinda implored the residents against aligning with individuals she claims had been constantly whining instead of working for Kenyans.
“Do not be cheated again. We have been fooled for a long time by people who have been in government and left. They complained when they were in it and are now complaining while outside,” she cautioned.

Earlier, Ruto and his deputy, Kithure Kindiki, had similarly warned the residents against electing leaders they claimed lacked an agenda for them.
“Those people who have no agenda or plans are not people we can entrust with leadership by electing them to office. Let us not destroy our country by electing such people. We have to ensure we continue the projects and the work we have started,” he said.
Agenda
On his part, Kindiki challenged the opposition politician to desist from mere political name-calling and engage the people on their developmental record.
“We want to change the politics of this nation. The people speaking here are saying what they have done to the citizens. I would like our opponents to also speak on their agenda. They should stop inciting and sowing divisions among the people and also speak of their plans for the people,” he added.
“When we speak of the projects we have undertaken, we also want them to speak of their policies and not only to sow division within groups of people,” he added.
