In a statement shared via his official X account shortly after meeting IG Kanja, Sifuna stated that the Police must do more to secure the safety of all Kenyans, expressing his concerns over the rise in the number of brutal killings across the country.

“In the wake of the brutal murders of three females from Eastleigh, I paid a visit to the IG of Police Douglas Kanja at his Jogoo house office in the company of Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan to express our concern over the recent spate of brutal killings across Kenya. Eastleigh murders

After meeting the police boss, the two lawmakers went to Eastleigh where they joined residents who were on the streets to demand justice for the trio who lost their lives.

Waris Daud, Amina Abdirashid and Nusuiba Dahir, all relatives, disappeared from their home in Eastleigh on Monday, October 21, 2024, only for their bodies to be found mutilated and dumped in different locations in Nairobi and Machakos.

The trio were brutally murdered by unknown persons on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

The three bodies were found in Bahati, Parklands, and Machakos, respectively, with similar injuries.

The two girls, aged 11 and 22, left home on Monday evening at around 5:30 pm to search for their mother, who had gone out earlier in the day for skin treatment in Eastleigh but had not returned home and had not communicated at all.

Eastleigh shops closed

Sifuna stated that shops in Eastleigh, which has always been buzzing business, remained closed on Thursday as residents joined hands to demand justice for their colleagues.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General used the opportunity to urge the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.

“Shops in Eastleigh, Nairobi remained closed as residents came together to demand justice for Waris Daud, Amina Abdirashid and Nusuiba Dahir. The trio all relatives were brutally murdered by unknown persons. We continue to call on the DCI to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book,” Sifuna stated in a post shared on his official X account.

MP Yusuf Hassan on his part urged the police to increase patrols in the area to enhance security and protect the lives of Eastleigh residents.
