Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has named the final squad that will take part in a CHAN qualifier against South Sudan in October.

Kenya will travel to Juba on Friday, 25, 2024, before the match against Bright Stars.

Meanwhile, Farouk Shikhalo, the KCB goalkeeper, and CECAFA Cup-winning defender Musa Mohammed are among the players that have returned to the national team.

Kakamega Homeboyz’s duo Ibrahim Wanzala and Brian Eshihanda, Posta Rangers’ Bernard Ondiek, Issa Lumumba of Ulinzi Stars, Andreas Odhiambo of Kariobangi Sharks, Matthias Isogol of Mara Sugar, as well as Shabana’s Mathew Tegisi, have been included in the final squad.

South Sudan will host Kenya on Sunday, 27, 2024, for the first leg at 3 pm before the return leg is set to be hosted at Kampala’s Nelson Mandela Stadium on November 3, 2024, at 4 pm.

If Harambee Stars outwit the Bright Stars in the qualifiers, they will set a date with the winner of the Djibouti vs Rwanda matchup in December in the final stage of the qualifier.

Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are expected to host the CHAN tournament early next year as a precursor to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
