US firm with Kenyan links partner in DRC’s for Sh450m ICT deal
The Kenyan franchise of a US communication firm has announced a Sh450 million partnership deal with a Congolese company to deliver last-mile connectivity solutions to households across the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The deal is aimed at bridging the digital divide between DRC IntelliMedia Networks Africa, a Kenyan subsidiary of the global US telecoms giant IntelliMedia Networks, and Matic Enterprises, a Congolese Conglomerate.
The partnership draws strength from IntelliMedia Networks Africa’s avant-garde private cellular network solution. “Our solutions are not just about technology; they are about crafting brighter horizons for every household, every student, and every dreamer,” said Ms Jane Nawezi, CEO of IntelliMedia Networks Africa.
The directors of the firms noted that enhanced connectivity is manifold and will include bolstering education and healthcare infrastructure, fostering financial inclusion, vocational training, and much more.
“The digital transformation is poised to address the burgeoning needs of the African populace, propelling the continent into a future brimming with possibilities,” a press release from the firm read.
“We’re stepping up to make a difference now, ensuring every Congolese has access to the digital tools they need to thrive,” said Alpha Eragy, CEO of Matic Enterprises.
This development follows the launch of US-based IT company, Intellimedia Networks Africa, whose strategy was to expand operations into Kenya by training locals to empower them to implement connection solutions across Kenya and beyond.
Intellimedia said its commitment to bridging connectivity gaps is aligned with UN sustainability goals, fostering socio-economic development and attracting foreign interest in Africa’s burgeoning market.
