Kisii small-scale traders allocated Sh40m

Kisii County government has allocated Sh40 million for on-lending to small-scale traders to boost their businesses, value addition and lives.

County Trade, Tourism, Industry and Marketing Executive Committee Member, Cyrus Nyabicha said the funds, under the County Credit scheme will be loaned under the county credit scheme geared towards empowering the traders.

The CEC said the county government has started building sheds and toilets at markets to enhance a business environment in line with Governor Simba Arati’s manifesto.

“The county is constructing sheds and toilets at Orogare market and have secured land at Nyaboterere to build a market to benefit residents” Nyabicha said.

The CEC who was flanked by Agriculture, Fisheries, Livestock and Cooperative Development colleague, Elijah Obwori said an industrial Park will be constructed at Kenyenya sub-county at a cost of Sh500 million.

He said the county government has allocated Sh250 million and national government will provide another Sh250 million, adding that the government has signed for the park to be constructed.
