Ketepa targets US market to grow sale of value added tea

By , May 18, 2022

Tea grower-cum-processor, Kenya Tea Packers (Ketepa) seeks to partner with major supermarkets and online platforms to deepen its footprints in the US market as part of growing sales of its value added tea.

The initiative to expand its market is over and above other plans meant to increase sourcing of herbs to be used in tea value addition from Nigeria, Morocco and Turkey to enhance tea value addition.  Ketepa production manager John Ngatia said plans are underway to engage major supermarkets and global digital platforms.

Those targetted include Amazon.com, Inc – the American multinational technology company which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.  “Even though we are already in the US market plus other global outlets, our desire is to present more of our value-added products using the digital platforms and engaging retail outlets,” said Ngatia at the company’s Kericho offices.
