The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced the maximum retail prices for petroleum products in Kenya for the period from December 15, 2025 to January 14, 2026.

Fuel costs follow markets

EPRA explained that the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 4.25 per cent, from Ksh79,712 per cubic metre in October 2025 to Ksh76,326.49 per cubic metre in November.

Diesel increased by 3.02 per cent, from Ksh81,760.91 to Ksh84,231.57 per cubic metre, while Kerosene rose by 5.52 per cent, from Ksh81,388.83 to Ksh85,880.82 per cubic metre. These changes reflect global market trends, which directly influence local pump prices.

Kenya imports all its petroleum products in refined form and sets local prices based on international market rates. EPRA also factors in the United States Dollar to Kenya Shilling exchange rate when calculating prices. The USD-KShs rate rose slightly from 129.54 in October 2025 to 129.81 in November 2025.

The Murban Crude Oil benchmark remained stable at around Ksh9,000 per barrel in November 2025. CBK Governor Kamau Thugge noted on December 10, that international oil prices have moderated due to increased production and subdued global demand.
