EABL appoints Justin Mollel as new group CFO
By Emmanuel Rono, March 13, 2026East African Breweries PLC (EABL) has appointed Justin Mollel as the new Group Chief Financial Officer designate.
The announcement, signed by Company Secretary Angela Namwakira, confirms that Mollel will assume the designated role on May 1, 2026, before fully taking over as Group CFO on July 1, 2026.
“The Board of Directors of East African Breweries PLC (EABL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Justin Mollel as the Group Chief Financial Officer Designate, with effect from 1 May 2026, to succeed the incumbent Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1 July 2026,” part of the announcement read.

The board described Justin as a seasoned and experienced financial and business executive with over 15 years of experience working in finance and leadership roles for both listed and non-listed entities.
Who is Justin Mollel?
He previously served as Finance Director for both Guinness Ghana and Serengeti Breweries Limited in Tanzania.
According to EABL, he brings a broad skillset spanning strategy, business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, risk and change management, auditing, and regulatory matters.
“He brings on board a broad skill set spanning from strategy, business performance management, financial and statutory reporting, risk and change management, auditing, and regulatory matters.
“He has been involved in turnaround and rapid high-growth businesses operating in a highly volatile and competitive business environment,” part of the announcement read.

Mollel currently serves as the Finance Director at Diageo Ireland, where he has built a reputation for developing growth strategies, managing complex financial operations, and transforming processes to drive business success.
He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Dar es Salaam and is a registered member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) of Tanzania.
Marketing and Innovations Director
The EABL Board has also announced that Anne Joy Michira, currently the Marketing and Innovations Director for Diageo South, West, and Central Africa, will become the Group Marketing and Innovations Director at EABL.
Joy brings nearly 20 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and has built a strong track record of delivering tangible value to businesses.

She has a deep understanding of African consumers and markets, having served in a wide range of roles across the industry.

AJ was previously the Marketing and Innovations Director of EABL, where she played a key role in growing the mainstream spirits segment and beer,” EABL said on a post.
