State House race: Ruto heads to Uasin Gichu

By , August 1, 2022

Deputy President William Ruto will today head to the Uasin Gichu region as August polls draw near.

The UDA presidential candidate is expected to rally voters across Nakuru and Baringo counties.

Ruto will commence his tour with a meeting in Eldoret town before heading to Kabarnet in Baringo Central constituency.

At noon, the Kenya Kwanza team will embark on an extensive tour of Eldama Ravine town, Eldama Ravine Constituency before heading to Kiptororo, Kuresoi North Constituency.

His final stop will be in Kaptembwa, Nakuru Town West Constituency.

Yesterday, Deputy President William Ruto and other leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance were blocked from gaining access to the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega town for a rally.

It was a day of chaos and drama as hundreds of supporters who had turned up for the event engaged security personnel in running battles.

Others broke into song and danced outside the stadium and on roads in the town.

Heavily armed police and county security enforcement officers had cordoned off the facility.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali was manhandled by the security personnel when he attempted to force his way into the stadium.

“Bukhungu is a public facility and we are entitled to use it because we followed all the procedures,” he protested.
