Raila’s sister Ruth secures Kisumu Women Rep seat with landslide victory

Ruth Odinga of the ODM party has been elected as Kisumu Women Representative after securing a decisive victory against her closest competitor Valentine Anyango of the Movement for Democracy and Growth party (MDG).

Raila’s youngest sister garnered 304,419 votes against Anyango’s 80,117 votes – a whopping difference of 224,302 votes.

Other candidates who contested in the Kisumu Women Rep race include; Independent candidate Rose Auma who got 36,692 votes and UDA’s Filgona Atieno who managed 7, 825 votes.

Ruth Odinga, who served as Kisumu Deputy Governor in Jack Ranguma’s administration, won the Kisumu Women Rep seat just days after her brother Oburu Odinga won Siaya Senatorial race.
