State House race: Raila, Karua heads to Narok
Azimio presidential flag-bearer Raila Odinga and running mate Martha Karua will from today embark on a five-day vote hunting marathon in the South Rift and coastal regions.
Raila and Karua will be camping in five counties through Narok, Taita Taveta, Kwale, Mombasa and Kilifi counties until Friday, July 15.
With just 28 days to go to the August 9 polls, Raila who is making his fifth stab will intensify the vote-hunting mission to woo Kenyans on their side during this general election that has been touted as the most competitive.
Over the weekend, the Azimio team stormed the Rift Valley region across Bomet and Kericho counties after their two-day campaign to Kakamega county.
While speaking in Kericho, Martha Karua urged the electorate to shun divisive politics saying tribal politics hinder economic progress.
“Msikubali tuwagawanye wakati was siasa tukiwaambia huyu ndio mtu wako. Mtu wako ni yule anakujali saa zote na imawezekana awe rafiki ama jirani ambaye si wa kabila lako. Sisi sote ni binadamu, tusimame pamoja tuone Kenya yetu imeinuka kiuchumi na maisha yetu imeboreka,” she said.
Kenyans are united by factors that supersede all and any differences. Patriotism and nationalism shone through in Kericho.
