Raila is a gift from God – Former presidential aspirant Kathangu endorses Azimio candidate
Former Ford Asili presidential aspirant Njeru Kathangu has endorsed Azimio One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga to succeed president Uhuru Kenya.
This is after the politician skipped the IEBC presidential candidates’ clearance last month over what he described as a strategic move to avoid humiliation at the ‘slaughterhouse’.
Kathangu urged his supporters to vote for the ODM party leader, saying he is the only leader among the four presidential candidates seeking the presidency, who can take the country forward.
The former Runyenjes member of parliament claimed that as things stand, no alliance can stop the ‘Azimio Tsunami’.
”Raila is a gift God is giving us, have never seen a time when the opposition is coming together with the government to support one candidate, let’s support Raila,” Kathangu observed.
Speaking while addressing a group of professionals in Embu town, Kathangu said there are many leaders who cannot be trusted with the leadership of the country. He affirmed that Raila and his running mate Martha Karua had passed the integrity test.
”If you are a leader and you are a thief then you must know that you work like a servant to an Indian and this kind of person when entering a store must be checked whether he has something in his pocket and when coming out too,” Kathangu added.
True nationalist
The former legislator described Raila as a true nationalist who deserves a chance to lead the country he has over the years fought for.
The sentiments were echoed by Embu’s Azimio coordinator Dr Cyrus Njiru who promised to deliver at least 70 per cent of votes for Raila in the county.
