Raila endorses Malombe for Kitui governor’s seat after announcing Ngilu’s exit
By evans.maritim, June 15, 2022Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has endorsed Julius Malombe for Kitui governor’s seat after Charity Ngilu dropped out of the race.
Speaking during a political rally in Kitui on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Raila said he had noticed the county residents were favouring Malombe who is eyeing the seat on a Wiper Party ticket.
Raila backs Malombe’s bid
“I can see you want Malombe as your next governor. He is here,” Raila told the rally before lifting Malombe’s hand up as a sign of endorsement.

Malombe will be seeking his second term after serving as Kitui governor between 2013 and 2017.
Ngilu on the other hand has dropped out of the race to concentrate on national politics.
Raila has since promised her a position in an Azimio government should he win the presidency on August 9, 2022.
