My speech in Kasarani was not based on personal differences with Uhuru – Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that his speech during the inauguration of President William Ruto was not based on personal differences with former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta.
Rigathi’s speech raised concerns among Kenyans with many claiming that the dress down of the exiting administration in front of visiting dignitaries was unwarranted.
The second-in-command has however defended himself stating that he was compelled to tell Kenyans the kind of nation their administration was inheriting.
“My speech at the Inauguration was not based on personal differences with Uhuru Kenyatta, I needed to tell the people of Kenya the kind of country we have inherited,” he said at a TV station.
“Some people have a problem with what I said at Kasarani; I am a truthful leader, I say it as it is. My parents raised me like that,” he added.
The former Mathira MP also assured Kenyans that the Kenya Kwanza administration will be all-inclusive. He stated that they will strive to lower the cost of living to the benefit of all Kenyans, regardless of the August 9th voting
patterns.
“I have every regard for those who did not vote for me, and I know they also agree with me because the cost of unga is up. The issues we were talking about were not about our supporters, they were about this country,” he stated.
