Mwangi Kiunjuri wins Laikipia East seat

Former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri is back in the parliament after clinching Laikipia East parliamentary seat.

The Service Party (TSP) leader who is also a principal in Kenya Kwanza alliance was a frontrunner in the race against incumbent Mohamed Amin Deddy of UDA.

Both Kiunjuri and Deddy were from the Kenya Kwanza coalition headed by Deputy President William Ruto.

Kiunjuri served as an MP in Laikipia East MP between 1997 and 2012 and Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock during Uhuru’s tenure.
