Kitui West MP Edith Vethi Nyenze re-elected

Kitui West Member of Parliament Edith Vethi Nyenze has been re-elected for a second term.

Vethi defended her seat on a Wiper party ticket after garnering a total of 18,050 votes ahead of UDA candidate Ben Muasya, who managed 7,967 votes.

Ben Mbai, who was vying on a Jubilee party ticket, has managed 6,467 votes taking the third position.

Speaking to the press after receiving her certificate from IEBC the elected MP Edith Nyenze expressed her joy for recapturing the seat and thanked her electorates for believing in her leadership.

“I can say it has not been an easy journey and I thank God for guiding me and also Kitui West people for trusting me again,” Nyenze said.

Edith Vethi Nyenze offers opponents olive branch

Meanwhile, she has called upon her opponents to work with her for the betterment Kitui West constituency and its people.

Edith Nyenze took over the seat after winning a by-election four years ago following the death of then MP and her husband Francis Nyenze.
