Kiraitu Murungi ditches Raila’s Azimio for Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition

By , September 2, 2022

Former Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi and a delegation of his Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) members have joined Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalition.

The political outfit was formerly a member of the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party.

While receiving the delegation at his Karen Residence, Ruto stated that his coalition will now forge a working relationship with the Kirauti-led party.

“We welcome the Devolution Empowerment Party (DEP) to Kenya Kwanza. Their resolve to work with us is an indication that leaders agree that the interests of Kenyans override our personal or party interests,” Ruto posted.
