I’m confident we will reclaim our victory – Raila
ODM party leader and Azimio One Kenya Alliance presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga has exuded confidence that their political formation will, in due course, reclaim their victory.
After a meeting in KICC with elected leaders affiliated with the Azimio coalition, Raila assured his supporters that he is working to ensure their will, which he opines was subverted by IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati, is respected.
“We continue working toward ensuring the will of Kenyan voters, majority of whom voted for Azimio and were wronged by Mr Chebukati, is respected. We are confident that we shall overcome the chicanery and reclaim our victory in due course,” he said.
Raila’s statement comes against the backdrop of his rejection of the outcome of the presidential elections. The opposition chief confirmed that he will be seeking legal redress and will challenge the declaration of his archrival Deputy President William Ruto as the president-elect.
Our victory has been deferred, but it’s coming home – Karua
Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya presidential running mate Martha Karua now says she is confident that the court will overturn President-elect William Ruto’s victory in the August 9 polls.
Karua says the coalition has not given up and will pursue legal action to ensure justice is done.
“Ours is victory deferred, but it is coming home. That message should reach everyone as we exploit all legal and constitutional means. Let everyone know victory is coming home,” she said.
