Nyandarua has the highest number of re-elected MCAs, thanks to a United Democratic Alliance wave, hopefully ending intrigues that have dogged the county for the past five years.

Eleven MCAs made it back to the assembly, with UDA producing the majority. Four who served in the first assembly made a comeback.

With 18 out of 25 elected MCAs belonging to the William Ruto-led outfit, Nyandarua will be controlled by UDA, which also produced the governor, Moses Kiarie Badilisha, Woman Rep  Faith Gitau, who retained her seat, and Senator John Methu. They will be among the youngest legislators in Kenya.

Jubilee only managed three seats through former Leader of Majority in the Assembly, Mwangi Gichuki, who recaptured the Engineer Ward seat that he lost in 2017. Other Jubilee MCAs are Budget Committee chairperson Kiiru Gachomba (Njabini-Kiburu Ward) and newcomer Ibrahim Maina (Murungaru Ward).

Gachomba is currently the longest serving civic leader in the county after serving as councillor for two terms during the defunct Nyandarua County Council era.

Chama Cha Kazi won one seat through Paul Ngeche, who retained his Kipipiri Ward seat after decamping from Jubilee. Three independent candidates also won — Geoffrey Waruiru Kamwana (Gathara Ward), Peter Thinji (Rurii Ward), and Dan Chege Githinji (Gatimu Ward).
