DP Ruto says he intends to be a preacher after politics
Deputy President William Ruto has revealed his next venture after politics.
While attending a mass service on Saturday, August 21 at Lavington SDA Church in Nairobi, the DP told worshippers that he would turn to evangelism after he is done with politics.
“I intend to be an evangelist when I am done with politics,” Ruto said, eliciting laughter from the congregants.
“And I am serious,” the DP said while promising to support the church’s mission program.
At the same Ruto defended his church visits stating that unlike other politicians he is well aware of how to conduct himself at church.
“I understand why Bosire says we should not speak politics because many politicians do not know how to speak in church because they are not Christians,” Ruto said.
The DP told the congregants that he initially wanted to attend a church service at an SDA church in South C Nairobi, before he and his team settled for SDA Lavington after an invitation from nominated Senator Millicent Omanga.
“I wanted to go to church, the one in South C, but it was not possible. When I called Millie, she suggested we come here,” the DP said before revealing when he got born again.
“When I heard you announce the camp, I remember with a lot of nostalgia the camps we used to attend when we were young people, and they were very edifying, in fact, I got saved in camp when I was a young man in a place called Murgusi in Turbo,” Ruto said.
