A storm is brewing within Deputy President William Ruto-affiliated party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after it emerged that some of his allies are unhappy with the Peoples Empowerment Party owned by Moses Kuria.

In what could split the so-called Hustler Nation, the two camps have started internal fighting with each camp trying to outshine each other.

Speaking after issuing certificates to candidates who will contest for Muguga ward and Kiambaa constituency, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua declared that the only person who will fly the hustler nation will be using the UDA party.

“We are sending a clear message out there that everyone who wants to be part of us will fly the UDA party. UDA is the only party for hustlers,” Gachagua said.

But in his response, Kuria dismissed Gachagua saying that his party will go ahead and field candidates in both Muguga and Kiambaa.

“These guys are just feeling bad that I singlehandedly fought for Juja and won.

“They are jealous of my success but I want to assure them to be ready for a serious battle. PEP is unstoppable,” Kuria said.

UDA party Secretary General Veronica Maina on Friday awarded nomination certificates to John Njuguna Wanjiku and Kamau Thumbi for Kiambaa and Muguga respectively.

Maina said the party will commence campaigns for the two seats.

The difference emerges even after Kuria, using his (PEP) party, delivered Juja by-election seat through George Koimburi.

For the better part of Friday, George Koimburi who won the recent Juja by-election spent his day with Deputy President Ruto at his official residence.

Surprisingly, Moses Kuria who appeared as his godfather was nowhere to be seen as Koimburi was only accompanied by Gachagua.
