Savoury bites that reclaim your taste buds
This batch of wings can be compared to the Chinese sweet and sour sauce and when combined, you get a serving of mouth-watering chicken wings. The chicken is first oven-baked then tossed and coated with the sweet and sour spice.

Lately, I have been ordering a lot of meals to my house. There is something about staying home and cooking all the time, not to mention the always piling dirty dishes! It makes you add a dishwasher to your want list so bad.
I rarely go to restaurants these days, because there is the delivery option and that just makes it easier.
It means I can lounge, no need to play dress up and still dine at the comfort of my house as I binge watch Big Brother Naija.
I recently came across a page on Instagram, with the username Roaming Gourmet by Cindy Gacai.
The photos on this page, are inviting, the true proof that pictures can make you hungry.
It’s lunch hour and the weather calls for some comfort food. I order a few meals to last me a day.
Well marinated
A few samosas, spring rolls kebabs for snacking, chicken wings and fries were the perfect company for the afternoon.
The samosa comes in varieties of beef, chicken and vegetables, with the last two being my go-to option.
I liked the fact that the chicken fillings were in chunks and not shredded which gives it a more satisfying feel.
With the distinct flavour of turmeric, it brings out the savoury and spicy taste without leaving your mouth with an after taste.
I would like to assume that a proper marinade took place in preparation of the fillings including the vegetable option.
Though not my favourite, it’s a healthy choice, that way I don’t have to feel guilty for having a full-on meaty affair.
The fills consisted of green peas, cubed carrot and potatoes. They also had the ideal exterior of a golden soft dough with a soft crunch.
The spring rolls were stuffed with small chunks of chicken as well. After having such a delicious compact roll, vegetable spring rolls are off my list of snacks.
Sweet n’ sour sauce
The chicken wings were sweet, spicy and served generously.
The reason why I rarely order chicken wings is that most of the times they come in small servings, they are considered to be appetisers.
Also, some restaurants prefer to use honey-glazed barbeque sauce, which can be too gagging at times.

Hotdogs are rarely my favourite snack, but I’m a foodie, which means I try everything.
The gourmet chef offers different types of hotdogs, which she refers to as loaded.
They come with a long beef sausage topped with a selection of freshly cut ingredients, drizzled with tasty sauces all held together in a handcrafted, soft artisan roll.
I love the mayo and mustard infused on the hot dog with a great chutney finish, in close range.
And the fact that the bread is freshly made gives it better taste. Not too messy as well, and although it’s loaded it doesn’t have excess spillage.
It also has cucumber toppings and cheese shavings, which balances the overall taste.
Loaded hotdogs
I came to the conclusion that foodies will literally put anything on a hot dog and eat it.
I mean, some are at the point where the hot dog is just a vessel for the delicious food items piled high on top of it.
You would think that some of these things wouldn’t go with a hot dog, but you would be wrong.
That’s why there are loaded hotdogs so that you can decide what you want in yours, just like pizza.
