COVID-19: Kenya records 16 new cases as seven patients recover

Kenya has confirmed additional 16 positive cases of coronavirus, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced on Saturday.

The total number of cases in the country now stands at 262.

Of the new cases, 15 are Kenyans and one is a foreigner.

Nine of the cases are in Nairobi, six are from Mombasa and Homa Bay (1).

“None of the new cases have travel history and none of them is from quarantine facility,” Kagwe said.

One of the new cases is an 84-year-old man who is an herbalist.

Seven patients, who have been undergoing treatment, have turned negative, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 60.

Two more patients have succumbed to the disease, death toll now at 12.
