Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has offered to support the family of Elias, a PP1 schoolboy who was hit by a speeding police vehicle in Embu County yesterday.

Addressing a section of residents at Difathas, the DP assured the child’s parents that he will support them with his donation.

He also assured the agitated residents who had taken to the street to demonstrate that he will pursue the wheels of justice and ensure that those involved in the boy’s death were brought to book.

The DP explained that he had already engaged the area police boss who assured him that the officers involved in the boy’s murder will face the law on Monday, September 30, 2024.

The DP also engaged with residents in the area before proceeding to Meru County where he toured Runyenjes, Chuka Town and Nkubu.

Speaking after his visits, the DP expressed excitement over the warm reception saying; “We forge forward united as a people of Kenya. To my great people and friends of Meru County, you power our economy through your hardwork, especially in Agricultural productivity. Thank you for your warm reception at Kathika, Tuskys and Makutano.”
